Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about embedding Substack Posts on your Weebly website.

What is a Substack Posts widget?

A Substack Posts widget displays your publication’s latest posts in a polished feed on your website. It keeps your writing visible where visitors already explore your brand, helping more people discover your ideas and publication.

How do I add Substack posts to my website without coding?

Create the widget in SociableKIT, connect your Substack publication, customize the design, and copy the generated embed code. Paste that code into an HTML, custom code, iframe, or embed block on your website.

What Substack information do I need to create the widget?

You need the public Substack publication source requested by the SociableKIT editor, usually the publication address or feed. Confirm the publication name, logo, and recent posts before completing the setup.

Do I need to own or manage the Substack publication?

SociableKIT needs a publicly accessible publication source to display its available posts. For a business website, use a publication you own or have permission to feature so the content remains accurate and aligned with your brand.

Do I need a Substack developer account or API key?

No custom API development is required for the standard SociableKIT setup. SociableKIT handles the technical connection and gives you one reusable embed code for your website.

Will new Substack posts appear on my website automatically?

Yes, paid SociableKIT plans include automatic syncing, so you can keep the same embed code as new eligible posts are published. The free plan lets you request a manual refresh when you want to update the feed.

How quickly will a newly published Substack post appear?

The post must first be published and publicly available through the connected Substack source. It can then appear after the next SociableKIT sync, so the website update may not be instant.

What information can the Substack Posts widget display?

The widget can present available details such as the featured image, post title, author, publication date, description or preview, and a link to continue reading. The exact fields depend on what Substack provides through the public source and which SociableKIT settings are enabled.

Does the widget display the full Substack post on my website?

The widget is designed mainly to showcase posts through attractive cards and previews. Readers can continue to the original Substack post when they want to read the complete article.

What happens to paid or subscriber-only Substack posts?

Paid posts can appear with the public title and preview that Substack makes available, but the widget does not unlock protected content. Readers must subscribe through Substack to continue beyond the publisher’s paywall.

Can visitors subscribe to my Substack from the widget?

You can add a clear call to action that sends interested readers to your Substack publication or subscription flow. Substack manages email signup, free and paid plans, account access, and payment processing.

Does the widget display Substack Notes or Chat messages?

The Substack Posts widget focuses on publication posts available from the connected public feed. Notes and Chat are separate Substack experiences and should not be assumed to appear in the posts widget.

Can I choose, hide, or filter which Substack posts appear?

SociableKIT provides moderation and filtering options for supported feed setups, helping you keep the display relevant to the page. Eligible paid plans also include automatic moderation for supported content.

Why is a Substack post missing from my widget?

The post may still be unpublished, scheduled, private, removed, protected, or unavailable through the public publication feed. It may also be waiting for the next SociableKIT sync, so check the source first and request support if it remains missing.

Can I display posts from more than one Substack publication?

Yes, additional Substack publications can be connected as separate sources. Choose a SociableKIT plan with enough sources for the newsletters, writers, brands, or departments you want to feature.

Can I reuse the same Substack feed on multiple pages or websites?

Yes, paid SociableKIT plans include unlimited widgets, websites, and domains. You can reuse one publication source in different designs for your homepage, resources page, author profile, blog, or campaign.

Which website builders support the Substack Posts widget?

SociableKIT works with WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Weebly, Google Sites, SharePoint, and standard HTML websites. It can also work with other platforms that accept JavaScript, HTML, custom code, an iframe, or an embed element.

Is the Substack Posts widget mobile responsive and customizable?

Yes, the widget adjusts to desktop, tablet, and mobile screens and can be styled with your colors, fonts, layout, spacing, and calls to action. SociableKIT supports flexible feed layouts such as masonry, grid, and carousel where available.

Will embedding Substack posts slow down my website or improve SEO?

Any external feed adds some page resources, so performance depends on your website, placement, images, and the amount of content displayed. The widget can improve discovery and engagement, but it does not guarantee higher rankings, so add original headings and useful page copy around it.

Is there a free plan, unlimited views, and customer support?

SociableKIT offers a free plan with one source, one widget, one domain, up to 2,000 monthly views, full design customization, branding, and manual sync requests. Paid plans add automatic syncing, unlimited widgets and views, unlimited domains, and human chat and email support available 24/7.
